The Peoples Fund

On behalf of host committee members Tory Dietel Hopps (Dietel & Pickering Partners), Ricshawn Adkins Roane (Weissberg Foundation), Ann Mills and Mo Pasternak (Agua Fund), we are grateful for your interest in learning more about how tribes can be strategic partners in safeguarding land, water, and the health of all relations.

 

We believe that trusting Tribal Nations to lead is the best path forward and more than 100 studies agree. Through a new designated, unrestricted fund to support Indigenous Guardianship, or The People's Fund, we can protect one of the world's largest estuaries in the Chesapeake Bay. We can't afford to wait, the Chesapeake Bay is now in the crosshairs of data center development, wetland loss, and climate change impacts. Tribal communities are stepping up to leverage their sovereignty to protect what matters most.
 

We have a big ambition to raise $25M over 5 years for a fund that would protect and connect Tribal Nations to 2 million acres of ancestral lands for generations to come. We believe that we will revitalize communities and all relations by leading with Indigenous Knowledge.
